Job: Civil Engineer – Infrastructure Design Contractor

I am currently recruiting for a highly experienced design engineer, from a civil engineering background to join my client at their site based just outside of Northampton. The role will involve working in part of a very successful and experienced team, providing design work for drainage, highways and other external works as required for both the public and private sectors.

You will be reporting to the Civil Engineering Director and will be working closely with them on various projects.

Some of the duties may include:

• Liaising with clients to understand the requirements of the project and to report back any issues
• Working with project teams and contract implementation
• Carrying out the detailed design of highways, drainage and other structures as required,
• The ideal candidate will have previous experience with S38 and S278 highway schemes, as well as S104 drainage schemes together with preparing technical specifications
• Mentoring less experienced design engineers as required

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Excellent communication skills and computer literacy are essential: and a good level of computer ability in AutoCAD, Ground Modelling, WinDes software is required
• AutoCAD Civils 3D skills and knowledge of Flood Risk Assessment or Transport Planning will be an advantage
• The ability to work on their own initiative, to operate as part of a Project team and to represent the company with confidence to a variety of clients and outside organisations is expected
• An excellent command of the English language, communication, grammatical, computing and interpersonal skills are essential

For this, you will receive £35p/h, dependant on experience.
