The responsibility of the Quality Engineers will cover the entire supply chain, from supplied parts to the client through to delivered components at the customer.
Duties
· Conduct supplier assessments against the requirements of ISO/TS16949 or VDA series as appropriate
· To support new product introduction through the approval of the initial sample reports, capability analysis reports and 2-day production runs
· To report on supplier performance results and carry out the suitable analysis with the aim of prioritising improvement actions
· To maintain regular liaison with customers through routine visits and Simultaneous Engineering Teams, as well as being the first point of contact for customer engineering concerns
· To contribute to the update of the Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) documents and Product Control Plans in accordance with changes to process
· To evaluate Statistical Process Control (SPC) data and initiate actions accordingly.
·To supervise the CMM activities, including direct personnel and resource, to ensure that adequate capabilities studies are available to support the needs of the Wellingborough business
Qualifications
·A Degree/HND in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline is essential
·Quality Auditing (Lead Assessor) qualification is desirable although training can be provided to otherwise suitable candidates
·Currently studying or have achieved Institute of Quality Assurance membership examinations
Experience
·A minimum of 3 years experience gained within a similar role within an automotive environment is essential covering Advanced Quality Planning (AQP) and Quality Auditing (QA)
