MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
To generate/develop design layouts and proposals based upon in-house or external briefs for presentation to clients. Ensure all jobs are carried out within time scales and in accordance with company policies and procedures, relevant legislation, and as required by the General Manager, thus contributing towards the achievement of the team and strategic objectives by developing and maintaining strong customer relationships.
Key responsibilities
Liaison with clients, architects and in-house managers
Accurate interpretation of the design brief to produce initial layout ideas for outline approval
Development of initial ideas to produce the most appropriate solution (in terms of innovation, environment, space & budget parameters and client preference) and production of presentation materials to best illustrate the design and so create the best opportunity for the Company to ‘win the business’
Liaison with suppliers and product research to achieve the best possible design solution
Production of detailed drawings and liaison with suppliers to obtain competitive costs for quotation
Preparation of quotations using template Excel costing spreadsheet
Ensure all drawings/presentations are accurately located on the Company computer system and that hard copies of the same are filed in the relevant project folder
Ensure that information relating to work in progress is passed to the Administration Department to update the Company database
Maintain CAD library under the supervision of the General Manager/Senior Design Consultant
Ensure that presentation and photographic material is archived and can easily be retrieved
